5 Best Vines to Hide Ugly Views
Earlier I have posted a list of 40 perennial plants to hide ugly views with plants sorted into trees, vines, shrubs and grasses. Since I wanted to give information in a concise and neat way, I only sorted them into tables and did not cram the post with pictures or it would be too large. This post will do just that. Pictures of vines.
Here are links to the other sections with pictures:

My favorite vine is actually English Ivy that I didn’t include here since it’s pretty invasive, but it grows in my garden naturally and is nowhere close to native forests, or taking over too much of the area. It is almost evergreen and that’s my favorite thing. I use it to hide a particularly terrible-looking neighbor’s shed – I installed trellises (reused dog enclosure) right in front of it and allowed the vine to go up them. Unfortunately winter of 2026 was particularly cold and most of the vine that wasn’t close to the ground died. And that’s why I said “almost” evergreen. Most winters it’s fine. These vines below all drop leaves for winter.
I hope that these will give you a good privacy screen, a selection of flowers and smells and an autumn foliage colors to choose from!
